BluesMix are a popular London based band who play an original blend of funky, soulful Blues. Their latest album called Biding My Time was released through Proper Music on March 3rd. Their previous release, London Nights, received many positive reviews.See the Reviews elsewere on the website.

BluesMix was formed in early 2006, comprising of four musicians from the London blues scene with a collective wealth of Blues related musicial experience between them. Since then BluesMix have built up a strong fanbase which spans both blues purists and more contemporary blues/roots/funky listeners.

The band are renowned for dynamic live performances and play extensively across the UK (160+gigs last year) with residencies/regular gigs at The Troubadour Club, Aint Nothin But The Blues, Jazz After Dark.

BluesMix have played/accompanied the likes of: Amy Winehouse, Giles Hedley, Ian Siegal. They have shared the bill with Jools Holland, Elton John and Matt Schofield.

In late 2006 the band toured the San Francisco Bay Area, sharing the bill with Elton John at a convention playing to an audience of 5,000 and playing a tour of Blues clubs across Northern California to great acclaim and radio airplay. They have also played gigs/festivals as far afield as France and South Africa.

Whilst deeply connected to a classic blues feel the band’s original songs blend elements of blues, funk, soul and the occasional tinge of jazz. They blend together a strong, funky rhythm section with virtuoso keyboards, melodic sax playing, tasteful guitar and a powerful distinctive voice. The focus of the band is on strong grooves and richly textured melody.

BluesMix thrive on live performance. Highlights have included:

• Gigs at the famous Troubadour Club, Aint Nothin But The Blues, various bars, private functions /festivals. Including a Thursday night residency in Soho..

• In October 2006 BluesMix toured the San Francisco Bay Area. They played to 4,000 people at a corporate conference, also appearing on the bill was Elton John! They played various other Blues Club/Bar gigs such as: Rudy's in Merced, Peri's in Fairfax, Maggie MacGarry's in San Francisco, Seahorse Saloon in Pacifica.

• Opening for Jools Holland to a 2,000+ crowd at the Rhythm on the Thames music event.

• Headlining the 'Dimension' music event at the famous 'Fabric' venue, to an audience of 900 people.

• Playing at the Brecon Jazz Festival - Sax player Bob Morgan drew this praise from the Guardian newspaper "...on sax Morgan honks away like Bud Freeman, a great exponent of the art."
